Urban Organic Bali is a sustainable composting initiative dedicated to reducing 80% of organic waste in Bali. We transform organic waste into nutrient-rich compost using the Effective Microorganisms (EM4) system, helping to restore soil health and reduce environmental impact.

The composting process using the EM4 fermentation method begins with collecting organic waste from households, restaurants, and businesses. The waste is then sorted into green (nitrogen-rich) and brown (carbon-rich) materials. Next, it is treated with an EM4 solution to speed up decomposition and control odor. The fermentation and maturation process takes about 3-4 weeks, resulting in high-quality compost. Before distribution, the final compost is tested for nutrient content, moisture levels, and pH balance to ensure optimal quality.

We accept various types of compostable waste, including food waste such as fruit and vegetable scraps, rice, bread, coffee grounds, eggshells, meat, fish, dairy, and oily food waste. Garden waste like dried leaves, small branches, grass clippings, and flowers can also be composted. Additionally, biodegradable materials such as brown paper, small amounts of cardboard, coconut husks, and sawdust are suitable for composting.

We do not accept plastic, glass, metal, or chemically treated wood or paper.

Rp. 100.000 / month: Includes 1x 25L bucket pickup and weekly waste collection. Subscribers receive 5kg of compost in June & December.
